Beginner skaters
The Beginner program is for skaters who are new to skates or new to speed skating. All ages are welcome, and recreational skates are fine.
Skating is a journey, so enjoy it with friends. Our practices are family oriented, friendly and fun, and you can move up through the levels at your own pace.

Beginner skating lessons near Concord
Devil Mountain Speed is based in Concord, CA, and Beginner practices are held outdoors at Martinez Jr High School in Martinez and Parkmead Elementary School in Walnut Creek, depending on availability and skater numbers. Families come from Concord, Walnut Creek, Danville, San Ramon, Lafayette, Martinez and surrounding areas, and parents are welcome to learn alongside their kids.
Practice is by reservation and/or registration, so contact Coach Chris to reserve your first practice. When you are comfortable on wheels and ready to get faster, move up to the Intermediate program. Compare every level on the programs page or check practice locations.

- Classes are $40 per skater for a 1-hour class.
- Class minimum
- Classes require a minimum of 6 skaters. Final decision is up to the coach — please check with Coach Chris.
